Treating pre-diabetes with herbal medicine and diet is wonderfully successful. Your general health improves and you learn to ‘know’ your blood sugar needs. Act early and do all you can to avoid the development of Type 2 diabetes.

The same is true if you already have Type 2 diabetes. The use of herbs to treat diabetes is effective and there are now scientific studies to back up what has always been known to herbalists. Herbs will also treat or work to prevent the complications that do develop with diabetes. This is the great thing about a herbal medicine prescription. It will work on a cellular level everywhere in your body.

Changing habits around eating to look after your blood sugar levels and insulin activity can seem daunting at first. There is so much information out there that it can seem overwhelming. As a medical herbalist I can prescribe the herbs you need to support your insulin production and blood sugar levels. Nutritional advice is also essential and is a necessary part of your treatment. I will discuss this with you at your appointment. If you need help getting going on the changes you might need to make, coaching or hypnotherapy will be included in your treatment to make this as easy as possible, and to keep you positive and motivated.

If you have Type 1 diabetes, obviously you will need treatment from your GP. However, there is much you can do to avoid all of the medical complications that can be caused by the diabetes. Hypnotherapy and/or coaching is fantastic for looking after your mood and general well-being.

Please call me if you think you need support or treatment. If you want to know more, please call me, at no charge, so that we can discuss how it would work for you.
