Usually, when we laugh at jokes or a comedy, we laugh for 5 or so seconds at a time, and whilst this is good, its not long enough to gain the full benefit. Laughing for a full 10 minutes (at least) a day releases enough endorphins, natural happy chemicals produced by the brain, to last a full 24 hours. Laughing first thing in the morning will lift your mood for the day. The more you invest in laughing, the better you will feel. There are so many benefits and the trick is learning how to laugh for its own sake, without needing a joke or a funny story to make you laugh. Luckily the body doesn’t know the difference between spontaneous laughter and learned laughter. And, laughter is infectious, before long even if you were not initially in the mood, if you start laughing intentionally it won’t be long before it becomes genuine, and if there is anyone else around, just what how quickly they catch it too. There are over 10,000 laughter clubs world wide so there is bound to be one near you. Go on, treat yourself to a good laugh and to a health makeover. It may seem funny, but it is absolutely true and seriously good for your health.
