IMG_5278I’m Fran Stone and I am passionate about healthy living. I integrate my training in Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, NLP, Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness to provide a truly holistic and natural treatment that addresses your emotional and physical needs. Feeling well is about being happy, having a healthy work/life balance, feeling energised, confident and motivated as well as being physically healthy in the body.

I practice in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. I have studied Herbal Medicine (the use of plants and herbs as medicine,) Nutrition, (the use of plants for health) Hypnotherapy and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) both of which involve the mind and create positive thinking, and Mindfulness practice which develops a healthy response to stress and anxiety and creates a wonderful space in your mind where you can discover just how much potential you have for enjoying your friends and family whilst being the best you can be.

The food and drink that you that you have on a daily basis have an impact on your well-being skin and health. I use plant medicine to enhance your health, and this includes advice about your nutrition as what you eat is central to your health. I combine herbal medicine with nutritional advice, hypnotherapy / NLP and mindfulness to provide an organic, natural and holistic treatment program that works for your mind, spirit and body to give you the opportunity to achieve the best in your life, which is certainly what you deserve.

The body cannot be healthy if the mind is troubled, and the mind will be troubled if the body is not in good shape. We all know the phrase, “mind, spirit and body,” The relationship between nutrition, mood, emotions and physical health is key to full health and so, to add to Herbal Medicine, I trained in NLP, Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness to acquire the skills and experience to work on all three levels. I expect you know what is meant by the emotional and physical level, but there are many different understandings about spiritually. What I mean is that you will easily be able to make the best choices for yourself because you have confidence about your life choices and are as healthy as you can be. Modern sedentary lifestyle means we need exercise and movement and the constant overstimulation of the mind has created the need to learn how to be calm and content. Mindfulness practice enables you to find a sense of calm, and gives you the tools to deal positively with stress, depression, and other challenges.

We humans are a complex species. Our body chemistry is such that our body really does know what we are thinking. Likewise, our body tells our mind what we need and so what to think. We have electrical signals (neurotransmitters) and chemical signals (hormones) zipping around our body all the time, regulating temperature, blood sugar, sleep, happiness, concentration, mood, hunger, blood sugar levels, digestion, the immune system and resistance to infection. The health of our cells and any imbalance to their make-up can have a major impact on our skin, digestive system, confidence and happiness.

Sometimes there’s a problem with the diet with the body is not receiving what it needs or getting too much of what it doesn’t need. Sometimes the immune system needs a boost. Low mood can affect the whole body, or the fact that the body is not well can cause depression. Then there are the times when we want to make positive changes, (take New Year Resolutions for example) but somehow the determination slips into resistance and before we know it, we are back to our old habits even if we know they are not helping. Weight loss or eating disorders are struggles familiar to many.

Herbs and plants are used as medicine to support the organs and systems of the body. They will work at a cellular level to correct any imbalance.

However, medicine is only one part of the jigsaw. If the diet is not nutritionally complete, the body is being starved of what it needs or flooded with stuff it can’t handle, like too much sugar or unhealthy fats. Silent conditions like pre-diabetes, diabetes or high cholesterol levels can undermine your health. Carrying excess weight can increase risk of many conditions and reduce fertility.

Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness complete the picture. Because how else can you get a handle on those pesky thoughts that end up sabotaging your positive plans, or make you feel as if it’s not worth making an effort, without the tools to control those thoughts and find positively creative responses to stress.

Living with illness, allergies, panic attacks or chronic pain can be daunting and debilitating. Hypnotherapy, mindfulness and herbal pain control can change how these affect your day to day life.

As a health coach I combine Herbal medicine, Nutrition, Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness to provide a truly holistic approach to your health at every appointment. Combining herbal medicine with nutritional advice, hypnotherapy and/or mindfulness practice creates your organic, natural and holistic treatment.

A bit more about me. I was a Family Law solicitor for over 25 years and I saw time and time again, the devastating effect that distress and conflict has on the body and mind. It was clear to me that whilst resolving the legal problem was vital, people almost always also needed support with their health and/or emotions during this difficult period in their life and this is what led me to study to become a Medical Herbalist with the College of Phytotherapy, completing a four year course that teaches general medicine, anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, diagnosis and the use of plant-based medicine to holistically treat physical and emotional conditions using only natural, plant based medicine.

I also experienced for myself how constant stress chips away at happiness and confidence. My mindfulness practice and study of emotional therapies gave me the opportunity to come through the stress exhaustion and burn out and find a better way to live.
